Dues Dues for the Oakwood Estates Homeowners Association, Inc. are payable in January of each year. These annual dues of $40 are the only source of income for the Homeowners Association. The monies are used to pay for streetlights, upkeep of the entrances, incorporation fees and other general expenses. Energy is getting more expensive, making it more important for all residence to participate in the modest annual dues of $40. Let’s do the math on our electric bill for the streetlights: Expense: monthly electric, annualized $6,156 We all know the benefits of lights on our streets. Oakwood Estates is in the county and the county does not pay for streetlights—we do. The math is simple: lack of funds for street lights means turning the lights off or raising the annual dues. Election of Officers New officers need to be elected and our annual meeting is long over due; the last recorded meeting was in November 2005. All officer positions are up for nomination and election. The annual meeting of the Oakwood Estates Homeowners Association will be organized by your Vice President, Steve Lutz (794-6227; email: steve@civil-site.com). Please call Steve for the date, time and location as well as to submit your nominations. I have enjoyed being part of bringing new life and beauty to both entrances. It is time for new ideas and new leadership; therefore, I will not be running for office. We are grateful for the many Oakwood Estate neighbors volunteering to bring grace and beauty to Oakwood Estates, especially Mark Booker and Ron and Lea Mosby. Please mail your dues and donations to:
